knock....knock...

Is that an echo I hear?  I wouldn't be surprised if most of you have given up on me.  I am still here...everything is fine...just very busy with some family stuff...  I did manage to take a "me" day last week and packed up a lunch and drove a bit over a mile to a friends house where we set up in her sewing room and sewed...  It was so relaxing...I could have just stayed all day...oh wait...I did!! lol  Thank you so much friend for asking..it was just what I needed...

This is what I worked on...

I had all the blocks made so it didn't take long to lay it out and sew up those rows..  I decided not to worry if some of the fabrics touched each other..  sometimes with this pattern it's almost impossible to do that..  and once it is quilted no one will be able to tell where one block stops and the next block starts.  This is for my neighbor who is due in September.  The fabric is Pure by Sweetwater.  I won a fq bundle quite a while ago...  It sure pays to follow blogs..and comment.

And then I worked on this...

Just a sneak peak as I can't finish it until the hubby gets home tonight. I need the use of a power tool...  This will be for the sister of that same baby... and maybe I will make more for the grandkids for Christmas this year.  We will see...  Isn't that fabric cute?  I won the fq from Anina at  Twiddletails a while back.  Perfect for this project..I just have scraps left..

Last night was a fun night out to dinner with a friend (you know who you are!) who picked up the tab for my birthday at Joe's Crab Shack..  Such good food... I had Pecan Seared Barramundi with Onion Strings and grilled veggies...

Today I will visit my Mom (I'm taking some homemade brownies with me!), do a bit of shopping for new PJ's as I have mislaid a pair somewhere, visit the post office to mail out seven books, and I have a dentist appt this afternoon to get a broken tooth fixed.  This is the third time this tooth has broken and I am hoping they can fix it without too much trouble.  I fear I will need some kind of veneer this time...

Nancy

PS Birthday isn't until tomorrow...but thanks for all the good wishes...lol

I'm glad you got some time for yourself! Your projects are very nice. I did have to laugh that you misplaced some pajamas!! Lots of silly thoughts ran through my mind about how that could happen. :)

I'm surprise with all the work on the "other" house that you have either the time or the energy left to do much of anything. Happy Belated Birthday. Interesting quilt pattern, which one is it?

Cute quilt top. You need to use a power tool? O.K. you have my interest now. I don't think I have used a power tool to complete a sewing project. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Happy belated birthday! If the power tools don't work out, I've got a hammer you can borrow...

;)

Good to see you back in blogland.

A power tool and a fabric project...together. Can't wait to see how these go together. Glad you had a sewing day. Looks like it was fun as well as productive.

Have a super great day.
