The Motherload.....

Oh ladies, I hit the motherload yesterday.

Went to quilt quild yesterday and rode with a friend. She mentioned she had some magazines to give away and would I like to look at them on the way up. WOULD I??
You bet!! Look at all those pages to leaf through. And these are the ones I am passing on to my two friends at retreat!! I already took out the ones I wanted. LOL

The guild has started quilting the raffle quilt for this year. I wish I would have had my camera. It is spectacular. All red and white. I swear I am going to win this year and repaint my bedroom. Next month, I will try and remember the camera and take a photo for you all. We sell raffle tickets all year and pick the winner at our Christmas Party. Last year one of the former members of our guild won and she hadn't even bought a ticket!! Her daughter bought one for her!! What a lucky gal....

Today is errand day. I need zippers!! Hopefully it will be done early and I can sew this afternoon. I found some wonderful polka dots lurking in my stash that might be perfect for a zipper bag or two... BTW, I picked the giveaway date...it's on my calendar so keep commenting to win a set of two zipper bags. One large and one medium and maybe if I have enough fabric one small one.... I may not have them all finished by the date I picked, but they will be shown soon after the winner is picked. I would love some of you lurkers to come out of hiding. Just say HI!! And these are finished products so you don't have to sew to enjoy them....

Enjoy your day!

Happy Sewing,
Nancy

Well aren't you the "lucky duck" with all those magazines. I'm having a zipper day today too, if it all goes well.

Very weird...I had just passed through the room in the house where I have a basket LOADED with magazines and just told myself I am going to give them away to the gals in the neighborhood quilting group next time they come to my house for a get-together. And then...I come in here to look at blogs and see YOUR post about magazines!! (Told you it was weird.....kind of Twilight Zone-like!!! LOL) Will look forward to the photos next month of your guild's raffle quilt.

Zippers? that reminds me, did you see MArtha Stewart a couple of weeks ago when someone made a lapel pin out of a zipper!. I'm sure you can find it on her web site.
Hope you don't get lost in those magazines!

OMG I'd never get through all of them for dreaming about the day I knew enough about quilting to actually make all the ones that I fall in love with! Of course, i'm having problems finding time to do what I need to do now!
DON'T forget your camera next month! I'm dying to see what it will look like all in red and white!

That reminds me that I should be putting together a pile of magazines for my guild's auction on Thursday. Love the orange and blue fabrics that you have picked out for the baby quilt.

Sometimes I want to comment but really either have nothing to contribute or see that someone has already said what I was going to say. but, I would like to win a zipper bag so here I am.

Yes, I'm lurking and watching what you are up to. What did you find to work on in the magazines?

I still like the red or the blue, or the yellow or the green. I'm not picky.

How the heck did I miss this post?
I am an absolute Polka Dot nut and would LOVE to win a zipper bag made of dots. I started saving polka dot fabric about a year ago and have to date filled an entire rubbermaid with them so it's time to decdide on a pattern and get to making a quilt of only dots.....
