design wall Monday....

I finally have something on the design wall. The top set of blocks are my First Saturday blocks from the LQS. There are 12 pieced blocks with an alternate applique block available each month. I don't plan on doing any of those. My goal is to make the whole quilt top for $5. It cost $5 to sign up. If you show up the first Saturday of the month with your finished block from the month before, they will stamp your card and give you the next block for free! with fabric included! So far, so good.

The second set of blocks is a BOM through my quilt guild. I wasn't going to join this one, but it is only 12 blocks with only a couple to do each month, so here I go again.

I was talking to my second daughter this morning. For some reason she has decided to take 3 kids under the age of 6 shopping for new bedding. Why new bedding??

Sunday morning my grandkids (age 6 and 3) decided to switch rooms. They worked very quietly while my daughter and son-in-law slept. They moved everything, including a TV, bookshelves, toys and finally bedding and pillows. When Mom and Dad got up, they were shocked to see what the kids had accomplished. Of course, then we had a boy in a bright pink room and a girly girl in a blue room. SO....all day Sunday my daughter and sil painted... Now Owen has a green room and Ava has a lavender (Fairy Dust was the color) room.... Isn't that hilarious??? Such funny kids...
They won't say what prompted the moving.

Go to Judy's blog for a Mr Linky and check out what other quilters have on their design wall...

Happy Sewing,
Nancy

NICE BOM's. As for the kids moving the room contents, I have to admit that scared me a bit as I heard of young kids trying to move a dresser and a TV and the thing fell and crushed one of them. YIKES!!! I guess it can easily happen as they are short and pull things from a very low height and tall things can then be top-heavy and come down on them. Maybe the kids should be requested not to do that again???? (Don't want to be pushy, but that situation I know about was VERY heartbreaking.)

Love your BOM. I have a few unfinished ones in my sewing room now. Aren't kids funny....You just never know what they will think of next.

I cannot imagine my kids at that age moving all that stuff but I am truly impressed. Maybe they would like to come here and help me rearrange my living room. LOL

All beautiful blocks. My own design wall is empty for the first time in forever! Not for long though! The Road To Oklahoma is coming soon!
