Wow, a whole week has gone by since I posted. We have been really busy here. We are getting our house ready to put on the market... I have cleaned drawers, closets, floors and we have packed a lot up to put into a storage shed ....

I am not sure how this is going to work. We are leaving a 2200 sq ft house with a full basement and going to an 1800 sq ft house with NO basement. If we must clean this one out to show it, are we gonna have room for all this stuff? NO!!
I know there will be some head strong arguments in the months to come. I am a pitcher, hubby is a keeper. It's gonna come to blows. LOL I was told that I didn't have to pack away the sewing room and stage it as a bedroom, so that's good. I did go in and declutter and gave away 3 bags of fabric and packed a large tote with more fabric. I only kept out a bit of this and that... I still need to sew!!

And to prove it, I took a little break today and made this....

I used THIS tutorial. It was posted Friday and I almost couldn't stand to wait until today to try it... I don't have a cute pink iron, but my $3 garage sale find worked just as well. Isn't it cute... The bag, not the iron...well, the iron is cute, but the bag is mine...LOL and it's dang cute... I used the Velcro closing cause I didn't have one of the spring closures....

Now I need to figure out how to make one just a slight bit bigger. This one is tiny and I think if it was a bit bigger it would make a great make-up bag...

What a great bag Nancy! I've seen out there in blogland you can use old metal tape measures for these as well! Perhaps you can recyle some of Hubby's 'stuff'? LOL

Good luck with the packing and moving. We did that 6 years ago and it was not easy...as we had a place with a basement and attic. While we did move to a slightly bigger house, we gave up all that storage and it has been a problem. I purged a LOT before we moved, but we still don't have adequate storage space now. I need to go through things and get rid of more....and do it soon as it's getting on my nerves now. Will you be moving far away?

I saw this tutorial and have been "itching" to try it..your little bag is so cute...I loved the cute pink iron too!! Good luck with packing and purging! I had a good clean out when we moved into our house five years ago...but it doesn't take long to accummulate "stuff".....there are drawers and cupboards I need to get to...but first in line is the wardrobe..there are clothes there that I will never wear again....(for various reasons ...LOL)...and they could be useful to someone else...and free up some hanging space....!

Oh, a new house, how exciting! I really wish we could move too, but Gino has a great job and any move within New England would be lateral, and I'm thinking diagonal...like TX! LOL! I'm excited for you; a new home is always the best time to "start anew; chuck all the crap you haven't used in years, keep only what you love and lighten the load...making room for new treasures to come, woo-hoo! How fun!

What a great bag! Thanks for the link to the tutorial too. And good luck with the packing and moving. Moving is just gross, there's no two ways about it! Good luck!

Moving can be such a chore. Our last move was with 18 years of accumulations.
Did you buy a house in Callaway county?
Good luck with the showing and selling of the house AND the move too.

Your little bag is cute! Are you staying in the same town or moving further away?

What a great bag. The tutorial is really good as well.
I see you have been really busy getting ready for the sale of the house. This will make the big move easier when the time comes. Thank you for sharing your bag and the tutorial. I had forgotten about that blog.
Have a great day.

Nancy, I can't believe you are moving again. Will you be staying in the same area? I remember that cute bird on a branch you designed last time.
