As Linda would say.....

Just as my hobby is quilting, my hubby's hobby is woodworking. He isn't really truly happy unless he is building something. Our house is full of furniture he has hand made. He has made chairs, desks, cedar chests, picture frames, clocks and a couple of months ago he decided we needed a new bedroom set. Remember the nightstands he made? They are now finished and in the bedroom.

And look what joined them this weekend....

It started with this... a simple pencil drawing.

It progressed to buying lots of these....

and finally this weekend, I got this...

TA DA......

Isn't it the most beautiful headboard you have ever seen? My hubby is very talented isn't he? Next up is a dresser for me. He already has his pencil sketch done and some of the wood was purchased last night.. then we celebrated at Culver's...YUM...

I think I should make a new quilt for our bed. What do you think? Any ideas on color or pattern? I can get new curtains so that shouldn't be a consideration. The walls are painted a very very light lavendar. It won't be repainted...

As Linda would say....I am spoilt...

That headboard is beautiful. I want one!!!! You need a new quilt to go with all that new furniture-or you could just turn an old one over-hubby likes the backs.

Really nice. What a talented husband you have! I'm sure you can find a cool print to go with those lavender walls.

WONDERFUL headboard...very talented hubby indeed. While a print to go with the walls would be nice, I'd also think you could get some great batiks and make some kind of quilt with "star" blocks that would look terrific. Can't wait to see what you'll do.

Spoilt rotten brat, is what I would say:)) I think I'm the same shade as your bed cover and curtains. Beautiful headboard, spoilt kid.

wow......that headboard is awesome....I love the nightstands as well.....he is very talented....perhaps you could come over to Aus for a working holiday and he could make me some furniture while he was here... while we were out touring quilt shops....and wineries if that is your thing...he could pay for the trip by working his way around Aus...LOL - btw do you think Linda is a little envious??

You are so lucky to live with an equally creative person. His work in great and compliments your work. I would make a quilt that combines both of your favorite colors: I really like colorful quilts.
