ah....routine...for the past three years I have had the same table runner in my dining room. It was a gift from a friend that owned a quilt store. When I found out she was closing the store, I asked if I could buy it. "No" she said...."you can have it".... It was the buggy barn basket pattern from homespuns...I really liked it.
Yesterday was a day of sewing at Anne's. I had some hand stitching to do on a Christmas present, Miss Nancy brought her sewing machine to work on her tumbler blocks and Anne said she had some hand sewing to do....and that we would laugh....hm... strange, even for Anne..
We sat down and started working and all of a sudden Anne brought out two Christmas packages... One for each of us!! How fun!!
Look what I got...
Is this not the most beautiful table runner you have ever seen. You can click over to Anne's blog and see more photos and read about the pattern. I love it so much...and it will sit on my dining room table forever...
oh, Anne's hand sewing? It was to add the labels to the back of the table runner.lol
For many reasons (that I won't go into) today was a very stressful day... so I decided to do a little retail therapy... I have no idea what I will do with these, but that wasn't the reason I bought them... I think the owner of the shop now thinks I am nuts as I showed up on her doorstep and said "I need to buy"...lol
3 one yard cuts....
And my first ever jelly roll....
I did buy some strips for this quilt but they weren't a "real" jelly roll, just some strips a vendor put together and sold. That one up there... AUTHENTIC....
Guess I need to head over to the Moda Bake Shop and see what I can do with this... I bet they have lots of options...

Wow, what a full day. And I hope your retail therapy was helpful. I always love to step into a quilt shop, smell and feel the fabrics, for a little escape.
What great friends you have. I love handmade gifts. They truly are the best. Enjoy! B=)
Beautiful table runner. Welcome to the wonderful world of jelly rolls. They are so much fun.
Nice table runner....sorry you had some stress BUT hopefully, the retail therapy cured all of that!!! :)
The first jelly roll is exciting, I have 3 and I still haven't undone them. I must do the same, go visit the bakeshop. I hope your lovely purchases helped cheer you up. The table runner is terricfic, what a thoughtful gift. You must deserve it.
I love authentic. Cant wait to see what you make. The runner looks good on your table
Wonderful table runner and such a nice gift to you...quilters are just so generous and kind. Always. I also love your fabric selections, they are really lovely. They definitely would have drawn my eye too (and my $$). Have fun with the jelly roll. I have one but haven't used it yet. I'd love to have an entire collection of them...maybe some day, LOL. Enjoy browsing the 'Bake Shop', they have so many treasures that are sew hard to resist. I know exactly what you mean needing some shopping therapy. I also have days when I spread out my stash, though it is not yet very large, I just look and visualize all the lovely projects I can't make, besides I love to just fondle nice fabrics, there is just something so soothing about the feel of fine, beautiful fabrics. Yup, My name is Nancy C. and I'm a fabric fondler, and not ashamed to say so.
The table runner is gorgeous. A little shopping therapy never hurt anyone.
Ok, I went to your post on 4/2 and really need to find out how to locate the company or persons behind your redwork quilt top. That is terrific and I need to know where I can buy that pattern!! PLEASE!!!

Nancy I wanted to thank you so much for the great pattern you sent me as my prize for the giveaway. It came in the mail yesterday. It is delightful and definitely a pattern that I will use. Thanks again so much for your generosity. Hugs coming your way!
Cute phrase, "retail therapy". I'll have to remember that! What a nice gift from your friend!
