Whats a grandma to do.....

I was talking to my oldest daughter last week and she was telling me some funny things that bitty was doing. Bitty waits until her sister is gone and then goes in her room and drags her baby and cradle to her own room to play with. When asked why bitty doesn't play with her own doll I was told she didn't have one... WHAT??? NO DOLL???

Crisis averted....

Both girls wanted to take this baby home.... Mom said "no"...

Thank goodness for grandmas! Poor Bitty without her own baby doll...how ever did she go on without one? She loves her new baby whom she named Evie.

Ah, so sweet. I always said if I could have been a grandma first, I would have been a better mom. Not that I was a bad mom but being grandma just seems to bring out the best in us don't you think? The baby doll story reminded me of my mom, long long time ago when she was little. She loved dolls but being a young widow, her mom couldn't afford dolls for mom or my aunts. Consequently, when I was growing up, I got a baby doll or age appropriate doll every Christmas and my mother loved them as much as I did. The year she passed away, she had bought a put away a beautiful baby doll for each of my daughters. My dad surprised us with them Christmas morning as mom had directed him to do during her last few days here with us. I still have one of them. A little worse for well, but much loved. Your pictures and story just made me remember that. Thanks for sharing and bringing to my mind such a special memory.

Did Bitty get a cradle too? You're a good Grandma.
