In exile...

It is 10:05pm as I write this and I have been living on the second floor since 7:45pm. So far I have made a little tote bag and almost finished a doll quilt. These are for a very special little girl that is going through a rough time in her young life. Sometimes life just isn't fair....

I would take a photo, but I am not allowed downstairs.

I have cleaned the sewing room.

I would really like a nice glass of ice water, but I am not allowed downstairs.

I have ironed all of my hubby's dress shirts.

I think I need my computer, so I gather my courage and go downstairs. The living room light is on. Otherwise it is pitch black.

My son and his "friend that happens to be a girl" are watching TV in the family room. I must quickly get some ice water, gather up my book and the computer and run up the steps. No talking is allowed. (although I do tell him to be home by 11:30pm after taking her home)

I am in exile in my own house.

For the first time in 38 years, I wish we had a TV in the bedroom......

Nancy

Sorry no photos. The camera is downstairs. Come back tomorrow and hopefully I will have photos of the doll quilt, tote bag and the furniture that hubby is building...

if I am allowed to go downstairs tomorrow.

How funny, but sweet too. Maybe you should plan ahead for the next time.

I know exactly how you feel! I was "in exile" last night myself. Same situation...son downstairs with a friend that happens to be a girl. Soon he will be back at school and I will miss my "exile" days! :-) Have a great day!

LOL - I'm actually laughing - out loud - at my desk. GO ROCK STAR!

Pie looks delicious - a birdie told me you were making banana bread today!

Can't wait to get home tomorrow evening after work ;)

So funny. I had forgotten about being a prisoner in your own home. LOL

I don't miss the days of being a prisoner in my own home!!! LOL I am hoping this young girl you mentioned starts to have an easier time in her life. Give her extra hugs from us.

oh the memories your post brought me! Maybe you need to pack an emergency kit? :) Cuz, you know it is going to happen again. Make sure you pack chocolate and wine.

Well, what an interesting evening. I'm in exile too, but only because the AC is in our bedroom!
