Those 9pm phone calls....

Last night we got one of the phone calls that all parents dread. Rock Star got off work at 9pm and called 5 minutes after to say he was on the way home. At 9:15pm he called again to say he was still at work and had lost his wallet. He had it when he changed clothes after school and remembers putting it in the back pocket of his uniform pants. It wasn't there when he got into the car. Of course, he had his debit card, drivers license and SS card in there along with a small amount of cash.
We told him to go ahead and drive home and then DH and I went out with flashlights and searched the car. No wallet.

So yesterday, I had to drive him to school, go to the bank to block his debit card, go to the store to buy him a new wallet (and yell at DHL), download a PDF file to fill out for a new SS card, pick him up from school, take him to the drivers license bureau to get a new one (surprisingly easy) and then to work. Then we made the choice to drive his car into town for him, so he can get himself home tonight. He also has been told to leave his wallet in the car when he is at work.

He is taking it remarkably well. Of course, he didn't have to drive all over town...

On the sewing front, I have been working on some redwork basket blocks. I had started these last year in multicolor and just didn't like them. I am very happy with these...

Happy Sewing,
Nancy

I love the baskets done in redwork. I have my baskets completed exactly like the pictures - I wish I would have "Stepped Outside the Box" and did them in red. Hmmm... maybe IF I make another one, but I have to finish this one first.
