So quick....

We had a wonderful time. We arrived at the condo Friday around noon and started hauling in all of our sewing stuff. This included 3 sewing machines, 3 suitcases, 3 coolers, 2 LARGE plastic bins of "stuff" and a 6ft banquet table. Whew!! We got all set up, had a quick lunch and started sewing.

Miss Nancy and Ann sewing away...

Here are some projects we finished.
We each made a zipper bag using a Lazy Girl pattern. Of course, Miss Nancy made two!! She is an over achiever..aren't you Miss Nancy? Who took this photo? It is really out of focus. Sorry about that. I wouldn't get up off the couch and must have forgotten to tell the photo taker to change to the closeup setting... Oh well, you should be able to double click to make it bigger and see it really blurry!! LOL

I am still in OP mode...
I made this triple irish chain. I am surprised it is almost done. I sewed so many strips wrong that I spent more time unpicking then sewing. It needs a blue border and then some matching binding... I ran out of blue...

I also made this stacked coins. I got the pattern from Crazy Mom Quilts blogspot. This is just one of many tutorials listed on her sidebar. It uses two charm packs and some background and it went together so fast.... Would make such a quick baby quilt..

I also got the final border on my OP quilt, but apparently didn't get a photo of it. Will have to do that when I unpack...
And this is Anne's Yellow Brick Road in Aussie fabrics. She had a name for it, but I can't remember right now what that is. Anne, leave a comment with the name, OK? She is working the next 3 days, so we probably won't hear from her until Thursday!! She likes it so much she was sad to think she had to give it away. We told her to give it to her DH and then she could keep it....

THIS JUST IN - Anne named her quilt "Road to Australasia".......
Here is Miss Nancy's bag. All pinned and ready to sew...Miss Nancy LOVES TO PIN..We call her the Pin Queen. She must own thousands of pins and uses every one of them...LOL It's a free Moda pattern call Sweet Treats. You can find it here. Click free patterns on the top right hand side and the Sweet Treat Bag pattern.

Anne is doing the free BOM here...and finished the first stitchery... Hey Anne, you are two blocks behind!! Just so you know!!... Ha Ha, I told you I was going to use the photo with the BIG HANDS!! LOL

We decided to leave Sunday early enough to visit the quilt shop on the way home, but we were too early so we stopped here - None of us had ever been to this store, in fact it is the only one I have ever heard of, so we weren't sure what to expect. It turned out to be kind of a cross between an old time Dime Store and a cheap small WalMart. LOL

And then we spotted this!! In the middle of nowhere!! A Pat Sloan book! We left it there hoping that it will inspire someone to start quilting.. Look at Miss Nancy doing her famous Vanna impression...LOL

And so quick, we are back...
to laundry
and kids
and grocery shopping
and real life..
I'm ready to go back!!

Thanks for stopping by....

Happy Sewing,
Nancy

What a fun time and such nice projects, too. Now....tell us what you had to eat there....I love to hear about THAT, too!!! :) I need to do some of the stitcheries, but I forgot what you told me you use to trace the patterns onto the fabric? Did you say a permanent fine-line fabric marker?? (Or won't that be covered up by the thread when the stitching is done?) Tell me again, okay? Cuz if you don't, it will be your fault that I've not yet started on one of them. LOL

There is no way I could go 3 days without reading your blog. Nancy the quilt is called "road to Australasia". I expect you to remember this as I will quiz you on Thursday. I think I am about 2 months behind on all my projects including the calender quilt which is a bit of a worry. lol

This was a great, quiet, relaxing, refreshing, enjoyable retreat even though I forgot two bags of my stuff in one of Nancy's big plastic bins. Out of sight, out of mind I guess. You stay out of my stuff. LOL See you Thursday. I am looking forward to your passing Anne's quiz on the name of her Aussie Quilt.
