Fresh Cut in Fresh Air.....

Daughter, grandson and I are off to the St Louis Science Center, the Zoo and a picnic lunch today....Yesterday I finished the latest Christmas quilt top. It went together so fast. I think I have decided to make me one of these. Just have to decide the colors.

Any hints on photographing these quilts? They look better outside, but I need to know whether to have the sun behind me or behind the quilt or where??

Happy Sewing,
Nancy

The quilt turned out great! I love that pattern. I should buy it for me.

It's beautiful! It does look even better in the outdoor light. I don't know much about picture taking with quilts but I recently read someone else's suggestions on another blog. They suggested hanging them on a line outside, using a picket fence or drapping it on a park bench. I thought those were good ideas! For indoors they suggested hanging them on the wall to get a picture of the whole quilt, then taking a close up of the details so you can keep a photo of the whole quilt and the details. Another good idea I think. I hope that helps.

Love your freshcut quilt! I know how much brighter it is in real life because I made one too and it photographed a bit faded in the sunlight also. I have just discovered that sometimes the colors turn out really true right about twilight.
